John Hurt
John Vincent Hurt, CBE (born 22 January 1940) is an English actor and former voice actor. Among other honours, he has received two Academy Award nominations, a Golden Globe Award, and four BAFTA Awards, with the fourth being a Lifetime Achievement recognition.

John Hurt
John Vincent Hurt, CBE (* 22. Januar 1940 in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, England, Vereinigtes Königreich) ist ein britischer Theater- und Filmschauspieler sowie Synchronsprecher. Hurt zählt seit Mitte der 1970er Jahre zu den profiliertesten britischen Charakterdarstellern. Er wurde insbesondere bekannt durch seine Darstellung von leidenden und zerstörten Charakteren, so in Der Elefantenmensch (1980), in 1984 (1984) und in Steven Spielbergs Indiana Jones und das Königreich des Kristallschädels (2008). 1979 wurde er für seine Mitwirkung in Alan Parkers Filmdrama 12 Uhr nachts – Midnight Express als bester Nebendarsteller mit einem Golden Globe Award ausgezeichnet.

John Hurt
Karierę sceniczną rozpoczął w 1962, w tym samym roku debiutował również w filmie, epizodem w The Wild and the Willing. Uznanie krytyki zdobył cztery lata później, rolą w Oto jest głowa zdrajcy Freda Zinnemanna. Grał szalonego rzymskiego cesarza Kaligulę w serialu BBC Ja, Klaudiusz. Za drugoplanową rolę w Midnight Express (1978) uhonorowano go Złotym Globem, został także nominowany do Oscara. Kolejną nominację zdobył w 1980, za tytułową rolę w dramacie Davida Lyncha Człowiek słoń. W filmie tym wystąpił w specjalnej masce.
