Johann Sebastian Bach
Johann Sebastian Bach (28 July 1750) was a German composer, organist, harpsichordist, violist, and violinist of the Baroque Period. He enriched many established German styles through his skill in counterpoint, harmonic and motivic organisation, and the adaptation of rhythms, forms, and textures from abroad, particularly from Italy and France. Bach wrote much music, which was revered for its intellectual depth, technical command, and artistic beauty. Many of his works are still known today, such as the Brandenburg Concertos, the Mass in B minor, the Well-Tempered Clavier, and his cantatas, chorales, partitas, passions, and organ works.

Johann Sebastian Bach
Johann Sebastian Bach (*  in Eisenach; † 28. Juli 1750 in Leipzig) war ein deutscher Komponist, Orgel- und Klaviervirtuose des Barock. Er ist heute einer der bekanntesten Tonschöpfer, dessen Musik spätere Komponisten wesentlich beeinflusst hat und dessen Werke auch in zahllosen Bearbeitungen präsent sind.

Johann Sebastian Bach, född 21 mars 1685 i Eisenach, död 28 juli 1750 i Leipzig, var en tysk kompositör och organist. Bach intar en särställning bland barockens kompositörer. Han anses vara kontrapunktens store mästare, som sammansmälter sina föregångares stilar och tendenser. Han hade också en för tiden ovanlig internationell utblick.

Johann Sebastian Bach
Johann Sebastian Bach (ur. 21 marca 1685 w Eisenach, zm. 28 lipca 1750 w Lipsku) – kompozytor niemiecki muzycznej epoki baroku, organista i nauczyciel muzyki. Był ósmym i ostatnim dzieckiem Johanna Ambrosiusa Bacha, miejskiego muzyka i Marii Elisabeth Lämmerhirt.

Pochodził z rodu liczącego kilkaset lat. Każdy członek tego rodu nosił imię Johann.

Grał na klawesynie i skrzypcach, słynął jako wirtuoz gry na organach. Działał w Weimarze jako skrzypek dworski, potem przebywał w Köthen na stanowisku nadwornego kompozytora i kapelmistrza. Większą część życia spędził jednak w Lipsku, gdzie pracował jako kantor i główny organista kościoła św. Tomasza (od 1723 aż do śmierci). W związku z tą funkcją napisał ponad 200 kantat kościelnych. Uprawiał wszystkie ówczesne gatunki muzyczne poza operą. Był mistrzem w komponowaniu muzyki polifonicznej – doprowadził do doskonałości barokową formę fugi (Das Wohltemperierte Klavier, Kunst der Fuge). Znany z rubasznego humoru, do końca życia uwielbiał zabawy i picie wina. Ostatnie lata życia Bach spędził przede wszystkim na walce z postępującą ślepotą.
