Jello Biafra

Eric Reed Boucher (born June 17, 1958) is more widely known by the stage name Jello Biafra. He first gained attention as the lead singer and songwriter for San Francisco punk rock band Dead Kennedys. After his time with the band concluded, he became more directly involved with political activism and took over the influential independent record label Alternative Tentacles, founded in 1979 by him and East Bay Ray. Although now primarily focused on spoken word art, he has continued as a musician in numerous collaborations.

Eric Reed Boucher, connu sous le pseudonyme de Jello Biafra, est un chanteur, activiste, politicien et militant écologiste né le à Boulder, dans le Colorado, aux États-Unis. Il est le fondateur et président du label musical Alternative Tentacles et l'ex-chanteur du groupe punk hardcore Dead Kennedys. Il est membre du Parti Vert des États-Unis. Il a été candidat aux primaires du Green Party en 2000, et a terminé quatrième aux élections municipales pour la mairie de San Francisco en 1979.

Jello Biafra (bürgerlich Eric Reed Boucher; * 17. Juni 1958 in Boulder, Colorado), als Leadsänger der US-Punk-Band Dead Kennedys bekannt geworden, ist ein US-amerikanischer Hardcore- und Punk-Rock-Musiker und politischer Aktivist. Nach Auflösung der Dead Kennedys 1986 wurde er Solokünstler, brachte mehrere Spoken-Word-Alben heraus und ging musikalische Kooperationen mit Bands wie Ministry (unter dem Namen Lard), No Means No, Mojo Nixon, D.O.A. und den Melvins ein. Während seiner gesamten Karriere veröffentlichte er seine Alben auf seinem eigenen Label Alternative Tentacles.
