Ioannina
Ioannina (, ), often called Jannena (, ) within Greece, is the largest city of Epirus, north-western Greece, with a population of 111.740 (in 2011). It lies at an elevation of approximately 500 meters above sea level, on the western shore of lake Pamvotis . It is located within the Ioannina municipality, and is the capital of Ioannina regional unit and the region of Epirus. Ioannina is located 450 km northwest of Athens, 290 km southwest of Thessaloniki and 80 km east of the port of Igoumenitsa in the Ionian Sea.

Ioannina
Ioannina ( , umgangssprachlich auch Γιάννενα oder Γιάννινα, albanisch Janinë/Janina, aromunisch Ianina oder Enine, türk. Yanya) ist die Hauptstadt der griechischen Region Epirus. Ihre Einwohnerzahl liegt bei 98.176 (2009). Das Zentrum der Stadt ist von engen Gassen und vielen alten Gebäuden aus osmanischer Zeit geprägt.

Ioánnina

Ioánnina (grekiska: Ιωάννινα, ofta Γιάννενα, Giánnena, Yiánnena, eller Γιάννινα, Giánnina, Yiánnina; albanska: Janina eller Janinë; arumänska: Ianina; bulgariska: Янина, Janina; osmanska: يانيه, Yanya) är huvudstaden i den grekiska provinsen Epirus. Staden har 70 203 invånare (2001), med förorter omkring 100 000. I staden finns flera ortodoxa kyrkor, tre moskéer (dock inte i drift) samt en synagoga.

Janina (miasto)
Janina (Joanina, Giannena) - miasto w północno-zachodniej Grecji, w Epirze, na zachodnim brzegu jeziora Janina. Około 70 tys. mieszkańców. Stolica nomosu Janina.
Ośrodek przemysłowy i handlowy Epiru. Przemysł skórzany, obuwniczy, wyrób dywanów. Rzemiosło artystyczne, jubilerstwo, uniwersytet (1966).
Miasto założone w czasach bizantyjskich, prawdopodobnie w X w. W 1081 na krótko opanowane przez Normanów. Od 1204 jedno z głównych miast despotatu Epiru. W 1262 ponownie w granicach Bizancjum. W 1345 podbite przez Serbów, w 1431 opanowane przez Turków. Okres rozkwitu przeżyło w latach 1788-1822 pod rządami Alego Paszy z Tepeleny. W 1913 przyłączone do Grecji.
