The Jamaican Boa Epicrates subflavus is a member of the genus
Epicrates, and lives in the moist limestone forests of
Jamaica and Goat Island. The average length of an adult is about 2
metres (6' 6"). They are commonly called the 'Yellow Snake'. The Jamaican Boa is also on the endangered species list and is classified as "Vulnerable" on the Red Data List. This means that it is at a high risk of extinction. Conservation methods have been put in place to try to rescue these organisms.
