JITA

The Jita are an ethnic and linguistic group based in Mara Region in northern Tanzania, on the southeastern shore of Lake Victoria. In 1987 the Jita population was estimated to number 217,000 [1].

Das JITA Classification System of Library and Information Science ist eine Klassifikation für den Bereich der Bibliotheks- und Informationswissenschaft. Sie wird über den internationalen Open Access-Eprint-Server E-LIS herausgegeben und wurde zuletzt 2003 geändert (Stand im Mai 2006). Die JITA wurde auf Basis der bis Ende Mäz 1998 von Mike Keen gewarteten NewsAgentTopic-Klassifikation und der ehemals von Donald Soergel erstellten RIS-Klassifikation des Review of Information Science entwickelt.
