Isra

In Islamic tradition, the Isra and Mi'raj (, ) are the two parts of a journey that Muhammad took in one night, in 621 AD (1 BH). Many Muslims consider it a physical journey but some Islamic scholars consider it a dream. A brief sketch of the story is in verses 1 and 60 of one of the Qur'an chapters (#17: sura al isra), and other details were filled in from the supplemental writings, the hadith.

L'isrâ' (en arabe  « voyage nocturne », venant du verbe [sara'a], « voyager la nuit ») est le voyage nocturne que le prophète  Mahomet aurait fait de La Mecque à Jérusalem puis au paradis et aux enfers. Il est suivi par le mi`raj (, « échelle, ascension ») quand Mahomet monte aux cieux puis descend aux enfers en compagnie de l'ange Gabriel sur une monture appelée Bouraq ( « éclair ») après être allé sur le mur du temple à Jérusalem.

Isra, Al-isrā, (arab. سورة الإسراء ) - "nocna podróż"; pierwsza część najważniejszego objawienia proroka Mahometa. Drugą część objawienia stanowi al-mi'rāğ "wniebowstąpienie". Al-isrā odbyła się w 621 roku na cudownym wierzchowcu Al-Burāq "Jaśniejący" z Mekki do Najdalszego Meczetu znajdującego się w Jerozolimie (Al-Masğid al-Aqsà). W Jerozolimie Mahomet miał dostąpić wniebowstąpienia w towarzystwie archanioła Dżibrila.

IS/RA staat voor Infrastructuur Randapparatuur en is het punt waar een telefoonlijn een pand binnenkomt. Meestal bestaat dit uit een telefoonstopcontact, maar er zijn door de jaren heen verschillende typen verschenen. In oudere huizen (gebouwd voor/rond de jaren '70) is het IS/RA punt meestal in de woonkamer te vinden, in de vorm van het grote telefoonstopcontact. Tegenwoordig wordt het IS/RA punt in de meterkast geplaatst. In het geval dat de klant ISDN heeft, is er een NT1 op het IS/RA punt aangesloten, waar de ISDN-apparatuur op kan worden aangesloten.

Isra är ett arabiskt kvinnonamn med betydelsen nattlig resa. I Sverige var 100 kvinnor med förnamnet Isra folkbokförda den 31 december 2006.
