Isfahan
Isfahan ( Esfahan), historically also rendered in English as Ispahan, Sepahan or Hispahan, is the capital of Isfahan Province in Iran, located about 340 km south of Tehran. It has a population of 1,583,609 and is Iran's third largest city after Tehran and Mashhad. The Isfahan metropolitan area had a population of 3,430,353 in the 2006 Census, the second most populous metropolitan area in Iran after Tehran.

Ispahan
Ispahan ou Isfahan est une ville d’Iran, capitale de la province d’Ispahan. Elle est située à 340 kilomètres au sud de la capitale, Téhéran. Troisième ville d’Iran (après Téhéran et Mashhad) avec habitants en 2006, la zone métropolitaine d’Ispahan est un des centres majeurs de l’industrie et de l’enseignement en Iran.

Isfahan
Isfahan (miasto)
Isfahan lub Eşfahān (znany z historii także jako Ispahan, staroperski Aspadana, średnioperski Spahān, pers. اصفهان) - trzecie co do wielkości miasto Iranu, położone ok. 340 km na południe od Teheranu. Stolica prowincji o tej samej nazwie. Populacja: ok. 2 mln.
Miasto leży w oazie na Wyżynie Irańskiej, u stóp łańcucha górskiego Zagros na wysokości 1590 m n.p.m.. Isfahan położony jest na przecięciu szlaków północ-południe oraz wschód-zachód. Temperatury wahają się między 2° a 28°C.
Główny plac Isfahanu - Naghsh-i Jahan (pers. ميدان نقش جهان maidaan-e naqsh-e jehaan) zwany obecnie placem Imama - jest wpisany na listę światowego dziedzictwa UNESCO.
