Solid and dependable Irish international full back who joined United from Oldham in June 1990 and is now the club's longest-serving player. Discovered by United when he led Oldham Athletic to a FA Cup semi-final appearance in 1990 after the Cork native began his professional career with Leeds United. Featured in the Irish teams that competed in the 1990 and 1994 World Cup finals. Won 56 caps, making his full Irish debut in 1991 against Morocco. Was the first Irish player to be capped at six levels. Won the UEFA Champions League in 1999 witgh the 'Red Devils'.
