Interval variable

A quantitative variable measured on a scale with constant intervals (like days or milliliters) where the zero point and unit of measurement are arbitrary. For example, when temperature is measured on two scales, Fahrenheit and Centigrade, the zero points in these two scales do not correspond, and a 10% increase in Fahrenheit is not a 10% increase in the corresponding Centigrade scale (see also ratio variable).
