International Association for the Study of Pain
The International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP) is an international professional organisation for doctors and other health professionals involved in the diagnosis, treatment and scientific study of pain, as well as education and training in the field of pain medicine. The IASP was founded in 1973. Its secretariat is based in Seattle, Washington. It publishes the scientific journal Pain. IASP brings together scientists, clinicians, healthcare providers and policymakers to stimulate and support the study of pain and to translate that knowledge into improved pain relief worldwide. Currently, IASP has more than 6,900 members from 106 countries.
