Intending cross

The Memorial Cross is a Canadian medal, awarded to the mother and widow of any member of the Canadian Forces who loses his life on active service, including peacekeeping and other such international operations. It is often known as the Silver Cross; the Silver Cross Mother is chosen annually from the ranks of mothers who have received the medal.
