Intel Corporation (; ) is the world's largest semiconductor company and the inventor of the x86 series of microprocessors, the processors found in many personal computers. Founded in 1968 as Integrated Electronics Corporation and based in Santa Clara, California, USA, Intel also makes motherboard chipsets, network cards and ICs, flash memory, graphic chips, embedded processors, and other devices related to communications and computing. Founded by semiconductor pioneers Robert Noyce and Gordon Moore, Intel combines advanced chip design capability with a leading-edge manufacturing capability. Originally known primarily to engineers and technologists, Intel's successful "Intel Inside" advertising campaign of the 1990s made it and its Pentium processor household names.

Intel Corporation (Integrated electronics) ist ein US-amerikanischer Halbleiterhersteller mit Hauptsitz in Santa Clara, Kalifornien. Sie wurde 1968 von Mitarbeitern der Firma Fairchild Semiconductor gegründet. Intel ist vor allem für PC-Mikroprozessoren bekannt, bei denen das Unternehmen einen Marktanteil von ungefähr 80 % hält. Außerdem werden auch fast alle anderen  Mikrochips für Computer produziert, zum Beispiel Chipsätze für Mainboards, WLAN und Netzwerkkarten. Bekannt ist Intel auch für seine fortgeschrittene Halbleiterproduktion. Vorstandsvorsitzender ist zurzeit Paul Otellini.

Intel – największy na świecie producent układów scalonych oraz twórca mikroprocesorów z rodziny x86, które znajdują się w większości komputerów osobistych.  Firmę założyli 18 lipca 1968 r. Gordon E. Moore oraz Robert Noyce, a nazwa pochodzi od słów "Integrated Electronics". Wkrótce dołączył do nich Andrew Grove, późniejszy wieloletni prezes firmy. Siedziba główna znajduje się w Santa Clara w stanie Kalifornia w USA. Oprócz mikroprocesorów wytwarza między innymi płyty główne, chipsety do płyt głównych, zintegrowane układy graficzne, pamięci Flash, mikrokontrolery, procesory do systemów wbudowanych (embedded), sprzęt sieciowy (np. karty sieciowe, chipsety WiFi i WiMAX), systemy zarządzania pamięcią masową (SAN, NAS, DAS). O sile firmy stanowią zdolność projektowania zaawansowanych procesorów, których kolejne generacje zwiększają swoją moc obliczeniową zgodnie z prawem Moore'a oraz bardzo wysoki poziom zdolności produkcyjnych. Początkowo znana wśród inżynierów i technologów, dzięki przeprowadzonej w latach 90. udanej kampanii marketingowej "Intel Inside", sama firma oraz marka procesorów Pentium stały się powszechnie znane.
