Indie role-playing game

Varying definitions require that commercial, design, or conceptual elements of the game stay under the control of the creator, or that the game should just be produced outside of a corporate environment. Indierollspel är ett amerikanskt begrepp för rollspel som ges ut av medlemmar i den självutnämnda "indierollspelskulturen". Definititionen av "indie" i rollspelssammanhang är svår på grund av att rollspelsindustrin bedriver sin verksamhet i en annan organisation och skala än datorspel-, förläggar- och musikbranscherna. De skeenden som inspirerat de oberoende rörelserna i de industrierna återfinns inte nödvändigtvis inom rollspelsindustrin.
