Indianapolis Motor Speedway

Indianapolis Motor Speedway, located in Speedway, Indiana (a separate town completely surrounded by Indianapolis) in the United States, is the second-oldest surviving automobile racing track in the world (after Milwaukee), and the home of the most famous open wheel race in the world, the Indianapolis 500. It has existed since 1909, and is the original "Speedway," the first racing facility historically to incorporate the word. With a permanent seating capacity for more than 257,000 people and infield seating that raises capacity to an approximate 400,000, it is the largest and highest-capacity sporting facility in history (by comparison, the world's largest soccer stadium seats 150,000 spectators).

Der Indianapolis Motor Speedway ist eine Rennstrecke in Speedway, einer Stadt in den USA, die komplett von der Stadt Indianapolis umschlossen ist. Die Rennstrecke ist ein Oval mit einer Länge von vier Kilometern (2,5 Meilen). An der Rennstrecke finden 300.000 Zuschauer Platz; sie ist damit das größte Sportstadion der USA. Die Strecke ist Austragungsort für die Indianapolis 500, das Brickyard 400 und der Motorrad-WM.

L'Indianapolis Motor Speedway è uno dei circuiti automobilistici più famosi del mondo, e sicuramente il più celebre tra gli "ovali". Costruito nel 1909 vi si corre la leggendaria 500 miglia di Indianapolis e da alcuni anni, il Gran Premio degli Stati Uniti di Formula 1. Sorge nell'Indiana in un sobborgo della capitale Indianapolis chiamato Speedway, organizzato come città autonoma.
