Imaad Wasif was one of the guitar players and founding members of the 1990s alternative groups Lowercase and also played guitar in a later incarnation of the
Folk Implosion. During the later half of the 1990s, Imaad formed another
indie rock/
alternative band by the name of
Alaska!. In
2006 Imaad formed a solo act, recorded an album, and went on a short West Coast tour performing in
indie rock venues throughout California before heading back on tour as the second guitar player for
Yeah Yeah Yeahs. He is of Jewish descent.
