ITU-R

The ITU Radiocommunication Sector (ITU-R) is one of the three sectors (divisions or units) of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and is responsible for radio communication. Its role is to manage the international radio-frequency spectrum and satellite orbit resources and to develop standards for radiocommunications systems with the objective of ensuring the effective use of the spectrum. ITU is required, according to its Constitution, to allocate spectrum and register frequency assignments, orbital positions and other parameters of satellites, “in order to avoid harmful interference between radio stations of different countries”. The international spectrum management system is therefore based on regulatory procedures for frequency coordination, notification and registration.

Das Comité Consultatif International des Radiocommunication (Akronym: CCIR; dt. Internationaler Beratender Ausschuss für den Funkdienst) war eine Unterorganisation der heutigen Internationalen Fernmeldeunion (Akroynm: ITU). Sie wurde 1927 auf der Radiotelegraph Conference in Washington D.C. gegründet und bestand offiziell bis zum Jahre 1992. In diesem Jahr erfolgte eine Restrukturierung der Organisation der ITU; die CCIR ging im neu geschaffenen ITU-R (Radiocommunication Bureau) auf.

CCIR to skrót nazwy Comité Consultatif International des Radiocommunication po polsku Międzynarodowy Doradczy Komitet Radiokomunikacyjny założony w roku 1928. Do roku 1993 był stałym organem Międzynarodowego Związku Telekomunikacyjnego (ITU), obecnie stanowi jego Sektor Radiokomunikacji (ITU-R).Skrótem CCIR określało się potocznie także "wysoki" (87,5…108 MHz) zakres częstotliwości radiofonicznych UKF, w przeciwieństwie do "niskiego", nazywanego OIRT (65,5…74 MHz).

ITU-R staat voor: International Telecommunication Union - Radiocommunications sector. ITU-R is één van de drie sectoren van de ITU. Het is een zusterorganisatie van ITU-T, maar richt zich op het reguleren van voorschriften op het gebied van radio. Dit onderdeel van de ITU is onder andere verantwoordelijk voor de toewijzing van frequenties in het radiospectrum.
