INMARSAT

Inmarsat plc is an international telecommunications company founded in 1979, originally as an intergovernmental organization. It operates a fleet of eleven (as of 2005) geosynchronous telecommunications satellites. The company is publicly traded on the London Stock Exchange (LSE: ISAT) as of June 2005. It is a constituent of the FTSE 250 Index.

The partnership provides mobile satellite capacity to its signatories, who, in turn, use the capacity to provide worldwide mobile satellite services to their maritime, aeronautical and land-mobile customersincluding shipping, cruise, fishing, research and offshore exploration industries, and airlines.
