IEEE Computer Society

IEEE Computer Society is an organizational unit of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). It was established in 1963 when the American Institute of Electrical Engineers (AIEE) and the Institute of Radio Engineers (IRE) merged to create the IEEE. At the time of the merger, the AIEE’s Subcommittee on Large-Scale Computing (established 1946) merged with the IRE’s Technical Committee on Electronic Computers (established 1948) to create the IEEE Computer Group. The group became the IEEE Computer Society in 1971.

La IEEE Computer Society è una delle società tecniche dello Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE, usualmente letto "eye-triple-e"). Fu fondata nel 1963 quando l'American Institute of Electrical Engineers (AIEE) e l'Institute of Radio Engineers (IRE) si fusero a creare lo IEEE. Il Subcommittee on Large-Scale Computing dell'AIEE (fondato nel 1946) e il Technical Committee on Electronic Computers dell'IRE (fondato nel 1948) si unirono per creare lo IEEE Computer Group, che nel 1971 divenne la attuale IEEE Computer Society.

IEEE Computer Society(IEEEコンピュータソサエティ)とはInstitute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)の組織単位である。IEEEを作るためにAmerican Institute of Electrical Engineers (AIEE) と Institute of Radio Engineers(IRE)を合併して1963年に創設された。合併当時はIEEE Computer Groupを創設するためにAIEEのLarge-Scale Computing(1946年創設)にある分科会はIREのElectronic Computersの技術委員会(1948年創設)を合併した。グループは1971年にIEEE Computer Societyになった。
