Hydrostatischer Druck
Hydrostatischer Druck (abgeleitet von hydro für Wasser und statisch für ruhend), ist der Druck, der sich innerhalb einer ruhenden Flüssigkeit unter dem Einfluss der Gravitationskraft einstellt. Es ist eine statische Größe, die ausschließlich von der Höhe des Flüssigkeitsspiegels über dem Messpunkt abhängt. Dieses Phänomen ist auch als hydrostatisches Paradoxon bekannt.
