Huang He

Yellow River or Huang He (, sometimes simply called the River in ancient Chinese, ) is the second longest river in China (after the Yangtze River) and the sixth longest in the world, at 5,464 km (3,398 mi) long. Originating in the Bayankala Mountains in Qinghai Province in western China, it flows through nine provinces of China and empties into the Bohai Sea. The Yellow River basin has an east-west distance of 1900 km, and north-south distance of 1100 km. Total basin area is 752,443 km².

Huang Ho, Huang-he (chiń. 黄河, pinyin Huáng Ho - dosł. żółta rzeka) - rzeka w północnych Chinach o długości 5464 km. Nazwa pochodzi od żółtego koloru namułów lessowych. Powoduje ona groźne powodzie. Wzdłuż jej biegu wybudowane są liczne tamy, sztuczne zbiorniki i kanały, służące głównie do celów nawadniania. Źródła Huang Ho znajdują się w górach Bayah Har Shan. Płynie przez Wyżynę Tybetańską, Lessową oraz Nizinę Chińską. Uchodzi do Morza Żółtego, tworząc deltę. Powierzchnia dorzecza wynosi 752 tys. km². Nad rzeką Huang Ho narodziła się cywilizacja starożytnych Chin.
