Homerus

Homer is the name given to the purported author of the early Greek poems the Iliad and the Odyssey. It is now generally believed that they were composed by illiterate aoidoi (rhapsodes) in an oral tradition in the 8th or 7th century BC. Homer's works begin the Western Canon and are universally praised for their poetic genius. By convention, the compositions are also often taken to initiate the period of Classical Antiquity.

Homère (en grec ancien  / Hómêros) est réputé pour avoir été un  aède (poète) de la fin du C'est le premier poète grec dont les œuvres nous sont parvenues. Il était surnommé simplement « le Poète » ( / ho Poiêtếs) par les Anciens. Victor Hugo écrivit à son propos dans William Shakespeare : « Le monde naît, Homère chante. C'est l'oiseau de cette aurore ».

Homer ist der erste namentlich bekannte Dichter der griechischen Antike. Er lebte vermutlich gegen Ende des  8. Jahrhunderts v. Chr. in den von Griechen kolonisierten Gebieten Kleinasiens und gilt als Schöpfer der ältesten Werke der abendländischen Literatur: der Ilias, der Odyssee und der Homerischen Hymnen.

Homer (gr.  Homeros znaczy "ślepy") (VIII wiek p.n.e.) – grecki aojda (rapsodas) czyli bard. Był on śpiewakiem wędrownym. Uważany jest za ojca poezji epickiej. Najstarszy znany z imienia europejski poeta, który zapewne przejął dziedzictwo długiej i bogatej tradycji poezji heroicznej (której istnienie jest wszakże czystym domysłem).

Con il nome di Omero (in greco , Hómeros) viene tradizionalmente identificato l'autore di due capisaldi della letteratura occidentale, l'Iliade e l'Odissea. Si ritiene che sia vissuto nell'VIII secolo a.C. Nell’antichità gli erano state attribuite anche altre opere: il poemetto giocoso Batracomiomachia, che descrive una guerra combattuta tra topi e rane; gli Inni omerici, rivolti a varie divinità, e il poemetto Margite, di cui ci sono pervenuti solo frammenti.
