Home appliances are electrical/mechanical machines which accomplish some household functions, such as cooking or cleaning. Home appliances can be classified into:
- Major appliances, or White goods
- Small appliances, or Brown goods
- Consumer electronics, or Shiny goods

Haushaltsgerät
Ein Haushaltsgerät ist ein mechanisches oder elektrisches Gerät, das üblicherweise im Privathaushalt benutzt wird. Darunter fallen beispielsweise Küchengeräte oder Staubsauger. Im Einzelhandel wird das Küchengeräte-Sortiment als weiße Ware bezeichnet. Dazu gehören Großgeräte wie Waschmaschinen oder Geschirrspülmaschinen und elektrische Kleingeräte.

Hushållsapparater
Hushållsapparater är ett samlingsnamn för mindre elektriska maskiner som finns i många hem och används vid matlagning, städning eller tvätt, som till exempel brödrost, vattenkokare, kaffebryggare, blender, mixer, matberedare, elvisp, dammsugare, strykjärn, hushållsassistent, smörgåsvärmare, mixerstav och våffeljärn.

Elettrodomestico
Gli elettrodomestici sono apparecchi o utensili alimentati ad energia elettrica destinati all'uso domestico.
La diffusione di elettrodomestici in Europa crebbe in larga misura tra il 1950 e il 1970, periodo nel quale divennero oggetti di uso comune. Nei decenni successivi, il consumo di elettrodomestici si allineò al ritmo dei consumi nazionali dei singoli paesi, con l'eccezione dei piccoli elettrodomestici che continuano a registrare una media annuale superiore.
