Hliðskjálf

In Norse mythology, Hliðskjálf (sometimes Anglicized Hlidskjalf) is the high seat of Odin enabling him to see into all worlds.In Grímnismál, Odin and Frigg are both sitting in Hlidskjálf when they see their foster sons Agnar and Geirröd, one living in a cave with a giantess and the other a king. Frigg then made the accusation to her husband that Geirröd was miserly and inhospitable toward guests, so after wagering with one another over the veracity of the statement Odin set out to visit Geirröd in order to settle the matter.

Hliðskjálf est un album de Burzum, le projet musical du musicien norvégien Varg Vikernes. Comme pour l'album précédent, Dauði Baldrs, cet album consiste entièrement d'ambient. Hliðskjálf fut enregistré sur un synthétiseur pendant que Varg Vikernes était en prison, car le musicien n'était pas autorisé à jouer d'autres instruments.

Esso si trova nel palazzo del padre e signore di tutti gli dèi, Válaskjálf.Nel Grímnismál, Odino e Frigg siedono insieme sullo Hliðskjálf quando guardano i loro figli adottivi Agnarr e Geirröðr, uno che abita in una caverna con una gigantessa, mente l'altro è un re. Allora la dea esprime al marito tutto il suo biasimo che Geirröðr sia così inospitale e taccagno nei confronti degli ospiti, e il capo degli dèi allora interviene per sistemare la questione.

Lidskjalf (eller Hlidskjalf) var i nordisk mytologi guden Odens högsäte i Valhall, varifrån han kunde överblicka världen. Lidskjalf användes ibland av andra gudar; till exempel var det därifrån Frej upptäckte Gerd och blev förälskad i henne.
