Der Hinduismus (Sanskrit: हिन्दू धर्म: , auch सनातन धर्म und वैदिक धर्म Vaidika Dharma) ist mit etwa 900 Millionen Anhängern die (nach Christentum und Islam) drittgrößte Religion der Erde und hat seinen Ursprung in Indien. Seine Angehörigen werden Hindus genannt. Gläubige Hindus verstehen ihre Religion oft auch als Lebensart. Die ältesten heiligen Schriften des Hinduismus sind die Veden.

O Hinduísmo engloba um conjunto de tradições culturais, sociais e religiosas que se originaram principalmente no subcontinente Indiano. Pode ser chamado de Bramanismo (ou Brahmanismo), pois é a cultura que originou do povo áriano, de cultura Brahmácharya (seguidores de Brahma, o pai, o conceito criador da trindade Hindu).
