Hindu Kush

The Hindu Kush, is a mountain range in Afghanistan as well as in the North-West Frontier Province and Northern Areas of Pakistan. It is the westernmost extension of the Pamir Mountains, the Karakoram Range, and the Himalayas.

Der Hindukusch ist ein Gebirge in Zentralasien. Es liegt größtenteils in Afghanistan, der östliche Teil mit den höchsten Gipfeln liegt in Pakistan. Der höchste Gipfel Tirich Mir ist 7699 m hoch.

Hindukusz (paszto: هندوکش) - pasmo górskie w środkowej części Azji mieszczące się w Pakistanie, Afganistanie i Indiach.Hindukusz graniczy z górami Safed Koh na zachodzie, natomiast od wschodu graniczy z wyżyną Pamiru, górami Karakorum oraz z Himalajami. Hindukusz dzieli się na Hindukusz Zachodni, Środkowy i Wschodni. Nazwa Hindukusz pochodzi z języka paszto, gdzie Hindu Kusz znaczy "zabójca Hindusów". W języku hindi nazwa ta brzmi Hindukuś, a po angielsku Hindu Kush.
