Hermione Granger

Hermione Jean Granger (first name pronounced ) is a fictional character in J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series. She first appeared in the books in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone as a new student on her way to magic school. As the books progressed, she became head of her class and used her vast intelligence to help Harry Potter. Author J.K. Rowling has stated that Hermione is like her at a younger age, with her self confidence and fear of failure.
