Heracles

For the Roman mythological analogue to Heracles, see Hercules. In Greek mythology, Heracles or Herakles ("glory of Hera", or Alcides (original name) " + , )" was a divine hero, the son of Zeus and Alcmene, stepson of Amphitryon and great-grandson of Perseus. He was the greatest of the Greek heroes, a paragon of masculinity, the ancestor of royal clans who claimed to be Heracleidae and a champion of the Olympian order against chthonic monsters. In Rome and the modern West, he is known as Hercules, with whom the later Roman Emperors, in particular Commodus and Maximianus, often identified themselves. The Romans adopted the Greek version of his life and works essentially unchanged, but added anecdotal detail of their own, some of it linking the hero with the geography of the Central Mediterranean. Details of his cult were adapted to Rome as well.

Héraclès (en grec ancien  / Hêraklễs), de son premier nom Alcide, fils de Zeus et d’une mortelle, est l'un des héros les plus vénérés de la Grèce antique. La mythologie grecque lui prête un très grand nombre d’aventures qui le voient voyager à travers le monde connu des Doriens puis de toute la Méditerranée à partir de l’expansion de la grande Grèce, jusqu’aux Enfers, et dont les plus célèbres sont les douze travaux. Il apparaît déjà chez Homère, ce qui témoigne de l'ancienneté de sa geste héroïque.

Herakles oder Herkules (griechisch  - Herakles, „Der, der sich an Hera Ruhm erwarb“, lateinisch Hercules) war der Sohn des Zeus und der Alkmene, Zwillingsbruder des Iphikles, erster Gatte der Megara, zweiter Gatte der Omphale, Gatte der Deianeira, nach einigen Gatte der Auge und nach seinem Tode Gatte der Hebe; außerdem Geliebter der Iole und des Abderos. Vater zahlreicher Kinder, siehe Herakleiden. Herakles war Vetter und Freund des Oionos, Urgroßvater des Hippotes und des Deiphontes und Vorfahre des Polyphontes. Sein Ziehvater ist Amphitryon. Über die Genealogie seiner Mutter gehört er zu dem Geschlecht der Persiden.

Herakles (gr.  lub Heraklees, a także łac. Herkules) to jeden z herosów w mitologii greckiej, syn Zeusa i zwykłej śmiertelniczki Alkmeny. W mitologii rzymskiej jego odpowiednikiem jest Herkules. Znany był z wielkiej siły, męstwa, zapaśnictwa i umiejętności wojennych, zwłaszcza celnego strzelania z łuku. Lubiany przez Zeusa i Atenę, był prześladowany przez zazdrosną Herę.

Eracle è un eroe della mitologia greca, corrispondente alla figura della mitologia romana Ercole. Era figlio di Alcmena e di Zeus, ed era dotato di una forza sovrumana. Nacque ad Argo oppure a Tebe. La vicenda di questo eroe non è raccontata in una sola opera, ma ne sono state scritte molte che lo vedono protagonista, marginalmente o particolarmente. Celebri le sue incredibili imprese, quali ad esempio le incredibili dodici fatiche che lo vedono affrontare serpenti dalle teste molteplici, leoni dalla pelle impossibile da scalfire, uccelli in grado di sparare piume affilate come lame e molti altri mostri che l'eroe, sia per coraggio che per astuzia, riuscì sempre a sconfiggere.
