Helsingborg

Helsingborg (between 1912 and 1971, the spelling was Hälsingborg) is a city in Skåne County in the southernmost part of Sweden, which has a population of 91,457 (2005). It is the seat of Helsingborg Municipality, which has 124,301 inhabitants (June 2007). Helsingborg is the centre of a region of about 300,000 inhabitants of north-west Skåne. This arguably makes the Helsingborg area the fourth largest metropolitan area in Sweden.

Helsingborg ['hɛlsiŋ'bɔrj] est une ville côtière suédoise, elle est située au point le plus proche du Danemark : elle n'est séparée de la ville danoise de Elseneur (Helsingør) que par un détroit de quatre kilomètres. Elle a 91 640 habitants et est le chef-lieu de la commune d'Helsingborg.

Sie hat 92.105 Einwohner (Stand 1. Januar 2007). Damit ist sie die achtgrößte Stadt Schwedens und nach Malmö die zweitgrößte Stadt Schonens. Helsingborg ist der Hauptort der gleichnamigen Gemeinde. Die Stadt ist ein bedeutender Industriestandort; ihr Hafen ist der zweitgrößte im Land.
