Helium

Helium (He) is a colorless, odorless, tasteless, non-toxic, inert monatomic chemical element that heads the noble gas series in the periodic table and whose  atomic number is 2. Its boiling and melting points are the lowest among the elements and it exists only as a gas except in extreme conditions. Extreme conditions are also needed to create the small handful of helium compounds, that are all unstable at standard temperature and pressure. It has a second, rare, stable isotope which is called helium-3. The behavior of liquid helium-4's two fluid phases, helium I and helium II, is important to researchers studying quantum mechanics (in particular the phenomenon of superfluidity) and to those looking at the effects that temperatures near absolute zero have on matter (such as superconductivity).

L'hélium est un élément chimique monoatomique incolore, inodore, insipide, non toxique et pratiquement inerte. De symbole He et de numéro atomique 2, il initie la série des gaz nobles dans le tableau périodique. Ses points d'ébullition et de fusion sont les plus bas parmi les éléments et il n'existe qu'en tant que gaz, sauf dans des conditions extrêmes. Des conditions extrêmes sont également nécessaires pour créer les quelques composés de l'hélium qui sont tous instables dans des conditions normales de température et de pression. L'hélium a deux isotopes stables, le plus abondant est l'hélium 4 et le plus rare est l'hélium 3.

Helium (von „Sonne“) ist ein farbloses, geruchloses, geschmackloses, ungiftiges chemisches Element. Helium gehört zur Gruppe der Edelgase, seine Ordnungszahl ist 2, sein Elementsymbol He. Helium bleibt bis zu sehr tiefen Temperaturen gasförmig, erst nahe dem absoluten Nullpunkt wird es flüssig. Es ist die einzige Substanz, die bei Normaldruck selbst am absoluten Nullpunkt (0 K bzw. -273,15 °C) nicht fest wird. Helium ist die Substanz mit der größten bekannten chemischen Reaktionsträgheit. Auch unter Extrembedingungen konnten bis jetzt keine Verbindungen des Heliums nachgewiesen werden, die nicht sofort nach der Bildung zerfallen. Helium kommt, soweit bekannt, nur atomar vor. Nur unter Extrembedingungen sind andere Formen denkbar. Das häufigste stabile  Isotop ist 4He; ein weiteres stabiles Isotop ist das sehr seltene 3He.

Hel (He, łac. helium) – pierwiastek chemiczny, z grupy gazów szlachetnych w układzie okresowym. Jest po wodorze drugim najbardziej rozpowszechnionym pierwiastkiem chemicznym we wszechświecie, jednak na Ziemi występuje wyłącznie w śladowych ilościach (4·10-7% w górnych warstwach). Hel na Ziemi występuje głównie w atmosferze (5,2·10-4% obj. w powietrzu), pochodzi głównie z rozpadu jąder promieniotwórczych w naturalnych szeregach promieniotwórczych. W litosferze hel występuje również w niektórych złożach gazu ziemnego. W gazach występujących w Stanach Zjednoczonych dochodzi do 1%, w gazach występujących w Europie ilość ta jest bardzo mała (z wyjątkiem Polski – do 3%). Praktycznie cały hel, który mógł pierwotne istnieć na Ziemi, nie mogąc związać się z żadnym innym pierwiastkiem, jako bardzo lekki opuścił atmosferę Ziemi.

L'elio è l'elemento chimico della tavola periodica degli elementi che ha come simbolo He e come numero atomico 2. È un gas nobile incolore e inodore; ha il più basso punto di ebollizione fra tutti gli elementi e può solidificare solo se sottoposto ad altissime pressioni. Si presenta come gas monoatomico ed è chimicamente inerte. È il secondo elemento più diffuso nell'universo, dopo l'idrogeno.
