HeliOS was a Unix-like operating system for parallel computers developed and sold by Perihelion Software. It was most commonly used on various Transputer systems, but also supported other architectures. The system provided a micro-kernel that implemented a distributed name space and messaging protocol, through which services were accessed. A POSIX compatibility library enabled the use of Unix application software, and the system provided most of the usual Unix utilities.

Helios (; "Sun", Latinized as Helius) was the personification of the Sun in Greek mythology. Homer often calls him simply Titan or Hyperion, while Hesiod (Theogony 371) and the Homeric Hymn separate him as a son of the Titans Hyperion and Theia (Hesiod) or Euryphaessa (Homeric Hymn) and brother of the goddesses Selene, the moon, and Eos, the dawn. The names of these three were also the common Greek words for Sun, Moon and dawn. Ovid also calls him Titan, in fact "lumina Titan".

In der griechischen Mythologie war Helios (altgriech. , „Sonne“) der Sonnengott. Zusammen mit Selene (Mondgöttin) und Eos (Morgenröte) war er das Kind von Hyperion und Theia.

Dans la mythologie grecque, Hélios ( / Hếlios) est le fils du Titan Hypérion et de sa sœur Théia, ou selon l’Hymne homérique qui lui est consacré, d'Euryphaessa, également sa sœur. Il est le frère de Séléné et d'Éos. Contrairement à Apollon, dieu du soleil, de la lumière et des arts, Hélios est la personnification du Soleil lui-même.

Helios (grek. Ήλιος) eller Helios Panoptes som han också kallades, tillhörde den grekiska mytologin och var en personifiering av solen. Hans grekiska namn betyder "solen", liksom det latinska namnet Sol. Hans andra namn, Helios Panoptes, betyder "den allseende" på grekiska. Helios har även givit namn till grundämnet helium eftersom det är en av de viktigaste beståndsdelarna i solen.

Helios ( "Słońce") – w  mitologii greckiej wszystkowiedzący bóg słońca,na ognistym wozie (rydwanie) wędrował po niebie. Syn Hyperiona i Thei, brat Eos i Selene. Jest jednym z najstarszych bogów tej mitologii.
