Hekabe
Hekabe, auch Hekuba (lateinisch Hecuba) oder Cisseis, ist in Homers Ilias Königin von Troja und Frau des Priamos. Die zehn Jahre andauernde Belagerung Trojas und die schließliche Eroberung der Stadt stürzen sie von höchstem Mutterglück und -stolz einer Königin in tiefste Not, Abhängigkeit und Verzweiflung einer Sklavin und berauben sie ihres Mannes und aller ihrer Kinder.

Hécube
Hécube, fille de Dymas et de Cissée, roi de Thrace, sœur de Théano et épouse de Priam, eut, dit Homère, cinquante fils. Elle eut la douleur de les voir presque tous périr pendant le siège ou après la ruine de Troie. Elle n'évita elle-même la mort que pour devenir l'esclave du vainqueur. On la chercha longtemps sans la trouver ; mais enfin, Ulysse la surprit parmi les tombeaux de ses enfants, et en fit son esclave.

Hekabe
Hekabe (zwana również Hekuba) (gr. ) to w mitologii greckiej żona króla Troi, Priama, matka dziewiętnastu spośród jego 50 dzieci, m.in.: Hektora, Parysa, Deifobosa, Polidora, Kasandry, Helenosa, Kreuzy, Polikseny, Laodike, Medesykasty, Polidamasa, Troilosa i Pandarosa.
W czasie burzenia Troi przeżyła śmierć wszystkich swych dzieci i została niewolnicą Odyseusza. Wg. innej wersji mitu: po śmierci najmłodszego z synów, zamieniona w sukę wyjącą na jego grobie, rzuciła się z rozpaczy do morza.
Motyw smutku Hekabe przejawia się w sztuce i literaturze (np. Eurypidesa) jako symbol nieszczęścia, rozpaczy i bólu.
