Hattusili I

Labarna II was the first king of the Hittite empire to reign from Hattusa (while the earlier kings had been at Neša), and taking the throne name of Hattusili I on that occasion. He reigned ca. 1650–1620 BC (middle chronology).He is the earliest Hittite ruler for whom contemporary records have been found. In addition to "King of Hattusas", he took the title "Man of Kushara", a reference to the prehistoric capital and home of the Hittites, before they had occupied Neša. A cuneiform tablet found in 1957 written in both the Hittite and the Akkadian language provides details of six years of his reign.

Hattušili I. († um 1540 v. Chr. in Kuššara) war ein hethitischer Großkönig. Unter seiner Herrschaft gewann das Hethiterreich einen Status, der dem einer Großmacht nahe kommt. Allerdings gingen die Eroberungen unter seinen Nachfolgern verloren, da es zu Königsmorden und damit verbundenen Unruhen kam. Des weiteren nahm er den Titel Labarna an und machte Hattuša zur Hauptstadt, die dies, mit kurzen Unterbrechungen, bis zum Ende des hethitischen Reiches blieb.

Labarnas II was de eerste koning van het Hettitische rijk die regeerde vanuit Hattusa (terwijl de eerdere koningen in Neša verbleven), en bij die gelegenheid nam hij de troonnaam Hattusili I aan. Hij heerste van ca. 1650–1620 v.Chr.Hij is de eerste Hettitische heerser van wie verslagen uit zijn eigen tijd gevonden zijn. Хаттусили I (Лабарна II) — хеттский царь (ок. 1650 — 1620 до н. э.). В титулатуре Хаттусили подчеркивалось, что он сын брата Тавананны, из этого ясно, что именно с личностью этой царицы были связанны его права на престол. Возможно, что он был сыном Лабарны, если только Тавананна была сестрой последнего (что не совсем доказано). При жизни своего отца Хаттусили, по видимому, правил г. Санахвиттасой. Первоначально он носил имя Лабарна; имя Хаттусили («Хаттусский») он получил потому, что из стратегических соображений перенёс центр своего царства из Куссары на север в Хаттусу.
