Harmonia (Greek goddess)

In Greek mythology, Harmonia is the immortal goddess of harmony and concord. Her Roman counterpart is Concordia, and her Greek opposite is Eris, whose Roman counterpart is Discordia.According to one account she is the daughter of Ares and Aphrodite; by another, the daughter of Aphrodite and Hephaestus, but almost always the wife of Cadmus. With Cadmus, she was the mother of Ino, Polydorus, Autonoe, Agave and Semele.When the government of Thebes was bestowed upon Cadmus by Athena, Zeus gave him Harmonia. All the gods honoured the wedding with their presence. Cadmus (or one of the gods) presented the bride with a robe and necklace, the work of Hephaestus. This necklace, commonly referred to as the Necklace of Harmonia, brought misfortune to all who possessed it.

In der griechischen Mythologie ist Harmonia die Göttin der Eintracht.Sie ist die Tochter des Ares und der Aphrodite (nach einer anderen Version der Elektra und des Zeus). Sie wurde die Gemahlin des Kadmos und Mutter des Polydoros, der Ino, der Autonoe, der Semele, des Illyrios und der Agaue.Bei ihrer Vermählung auf der Burg in Theben waren sämtliche Götter zugegen und übergaben ihr Geschenke. Kadmos von Theben gab ihr ein von Hephaistos gefertigtes kunstvolles Halsband. Dies war der verhängnisvolle Schmuck, welchen später Polyneikes der Eriphyle gab, damit diese ihren Gemahl Amphiaraos zur Teilnahme am Krieg gegen Theben bewegen solle.

Harmonia –  grecka personifikacja ładu i symetrii. W dobie hellenizmu również: porządku, zgody i łączności. Jako bóstwo patronowała prawdziwej miłości. W mitologii była córką Aresa i Afrodyty lub według Samotrakijczyków - Zeusa i Plejady Elektry. Została przeznaczona na żonę herosa Kadmosa. Na ucztę weselną przybyli wszyscy bogowie. Małżonek podarował Harmonii piękne peplos  i wspaniały naszyjnik wykonany przez Hefajstosa. Naszyjnik przynosił nieszczęście jego wszystkim późniejszym posiadaczom. Szczególną rolę odegrał w micie tebańskim.

Armònia è una figura della mitologia greca, secondo quanto riportato da Esiodo nella sua Teogonia, figlia di Ares e Afrodite.Il mito narra che Zeus diede Armònia in sposa al fondatore di Tebe, Cadmo, come ricompensa per averlo liberato dal mostro Tifeo. Tutti gli dei scesero a Tebe dall'Olimpo per celebrare le nozze. Secondo il mito queste furono le prime nozze della storia. Fra i doni recati dagli dei, avrà una parte importante nella storia di Tebe la collana forgiata da Efesto che Afrodite mise al collo della sposa, dotandola del potere di dare bellezza a chiunque la portasse.
