Hardinxveld-Giessendam

(population: 17,828 in 2004) is a municipality in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. The municipality covers an area of 19.35 km² (7.47 mile²) of which 2.44 km² (0.94 mile²) is water.The municipality of Hardinxveld-Giessendam consists of the two population centres Giessendam/Neder-Hardinxveld and Boven-Hardinxveld. Until they were merged together in 1957, Giessendam and Hardinxveld were two municipalities, consisting of only a few streets and dykes and only a few thousand inhabitants.

Ihre Gesamtfläche beträgt 19,5 km².Die Gemeinde umfasst das Zwillingsdorf Hardinxveld-Giessendam, wo sich auch das Rathaus befindet, und das mehr östlich liegende Boven Hardinxveld.

Hardinxveld-Giessendam is een gemeente in de Nederlandse provincie Zuid-Holland. De gemeente telt inwoners (, bron: CBS) en heeft een oppervlakte van 19,35 km² (waarvan 2,46 km² water). De inwoners werken met name in de scheepsbouw en de aannemerij. De beide dorpskernen zijn Boven-Hardinxveld en Giessendam/Neder-Hardinxveld.
