Hand

The hands (med./lat.: manus, pl. manūs) are the two intricate, prehensile, multi-fingered body parts normally located at the end of each arm (medically: "terminating each anterior limb/appendage") of a human or other primate. They are the chief organs for physically manipulating the environment, using the roughest to the finest motor skills (wielding a club; threading a needle), and since the fingertips contain some of the densest areas of nerve endings on the human body, they are also the richest source of tactile feedback so that sense of touch is intimately associated with human hands. Like other paired organs (eyes, ears, legs), each hand is dominantly controlled by the opposing brain hemisphere, and thus handedness, or preferred hand choice for single-handed activities such as writing with a pen, reflects a significant individual trait.

Le handball (parfois simplifié en hand) est un sport collectif où deux équipes de 7 joueurs s'affrontent avec un ballon sur un terrain rectangulaire (dimensions : 20 mètres par 40 mètres) séparé en deux camps. La main est l’organe préhensile effecteur situé à l’extrémité de l’avant-bras et relié à ce dernier par le poignet. C'est un organe destiné à saisir et manipuler des objets. Chez l'Homme, la main est un organe extrêmement développé et important, elle dispose d'une palette d'actions très large. Située sur chaque membre supérieur, elle comprend cinq doigts qui apportent une contribution majeure au sens du toucher.

Die Hand (med./lat.: manus) ist das Greifwerkzeug der oberen Extremitäten (Arme) des Menschen. Gemeinsam mit der Hand der meisten Primaten ist sie durch den opponierbaren Daumen ausgezeichnet. Bei den Tieren wird zumeist der Begriff Vorderfuß verwendet.

Dłoń, powierzchnia dłoniowa (łac. palma manus) - u naczelnych okolica ciała obejmująca powierzchnię przednią (w pozycji anatomicznej) ręki, pozbawiona owłosienia, której skóra pokryta jest liniami papilarnymi. Według profesora Bochenka do dłoni nie zalicza się okolicy dłoniowej palców (zatem dotyczy jedynie śródręcza i nadgarstka). W języku potocznym określenie dłoń mylnie stosuje się w odniesieniu do całej ręki.
