Han (state)

Han (韓國, Hánguó) (403 BC-230 BC) was a kingdom during the Warring States Period in China. Not to be confused with South Korea which shares the same name.Its territory directly blocked the passage of the state of Qin into the North China Plain, thus becoming a frequent target of Qin's military operations. Although the Han had attempted several self strengthening reforms, notably under the famous Legalist Shen Buhai, it would never overcome the Qin. In fact it was the first of the Six states to be conquered by Qin.

Han (chinois traditionnel 韓, simplifié 韩) était un État de la période des Royaumes combattants de la Chine (-453/-403 à -230). Initialement clan de grands feudataires de l'État de Jin, le Han fut l'un des trois États créés par la partition de celui-ci.

Han - chińskie państwo w Okresie Walczących Królestw. Uwaga: w języku chińskim identyczną nazwę nosi obecnie Korea Południowa.Tereny państwa Han blokowały Państwu Qin dostęp na nizinę północnochińską, dlatego było on celem stałych ataków ze strony sąsiada. Mimo reform wojskowych, m.in. pod kierunkiem legisty Shen Buhaia, królestwu Han nie udało się dorównać przeciwnikowi i zostało podbite w 230 r. p.n.e. Najazd Qin na komanderię Shandang (上黨郡) w państwie Han doprowadził do bitwy po Changping (260 r. p.n.e.) - jednej z najkrwawszych w Okresie Walczących Królestw.
