Hals Municipality

Hals is a town in Region Nordjylland's Aalborg municipality on the east coast of the Jutland peninsula in northern Denmark.Until January 1, 2007, Hals was also a municipality (Danish, kommune) in North Jutland County  The municipality covered an area of 191 km², and had a total population of 11,448 (2005). Its last mayor was Bent Sørensen, a member of the Social Democrats (Socialdemokraterne) political party. Though Hals was the biggest town, the site of its municipal council was the town of Gandrup.

Hals ist eine Gemeinde im Nordjyllands Amt an der Ostküste von Jütland in Dänemark. Sie hat 11.448 Einwohner (Stand: 2005) und eine Fläche von 190,70 km².Hals bildet die östliche Einfahrt in den Limfjord, der dort von einer Fähre überquert wird. Der Ort lebt zum großen Teil vom Tourismus. Bemerkenswert ist die Festung von Hals mit vier Bastionen und umlaufende Gräben. Vor den Gräben befinden sich Ravelins und das zugehörige Glacis.Der Ortsteil Vester Hassing ist Standort der Stromrichterstation der HGÜ-Kontiskan, der ältesten Seekabelverbindung zwischen Skandinavien und Mitteleuropa.

Gmina Hals (duń. Hals Kommune) jest jedną z gmin w Danii w okręgu północnej Jutlandii (Nordjyllands Amt). Siedzibą władz gminy jest Gandrup. Gmina Hals została utworzona 1 kwietnia 1970 na mocy reformy podziału administracyjnego Danii. Kolejna reforma planowana jest na rok 2007.
