Halže

Halže (German: Hals) is a village in the Plzeň Region of the Czech Republic. It lies near the town of Tachov (German: Tachau). It has around 940 inhabitants.The natural western border is formed by the Bohemian Forest (Český Les). Halže is an ideal starting point for trips to the Bohemian Forest and only a few km south-east from spa resort Mariánské Lázně. Tachov District is West Bohemia's third largest in area (1,379 sq.km). The district lies in the southeast of the Czech Republic bordering the Federal Republic of Germany (Bavaria) in the west.

Halže (deutsch Hals) ist eine Gemeinde mit 943 Einwohnern (2. Oktober 2006) in Tschechien. Sie liegt auf einer leicht ansteigenden Anhöhe etwa 6 km nordwestlich von Tachov in einer Höhe von 596 m ü. M. im Oberpfälzer Wald (Ceský les) und gehört dem Okres Tachov an.Südwestlich des Dorfes wird im Bereich der früheren Gemeinde Lucina (Sorghof) die Mies in der Trinkwassertalsperre Lucina angestaut.Nahe der benachbarten deutschen Stadt Bärnau besteht östlich der Gemeinde im Bereich der Wüstung Pavluv Studenec (Paulusbrunn) ein Grenzübergang. Nördlich liegen die Stadt Cheb (Eger) sowie die Kurorte Františkovy Lázne (Franzensbad) und Mariánské Lázne (Marienbad).
