Nicorette
Nicorette is a branded over-the-counter palliative treatment which is used to ameliorate the withdrawal effects involved in quitting smoking. It was part of Pfizer Consumer Healthcare Products Company, which was sold to Johnson & Johnson in 2006. Originally available as a patch for topical application, it was later made available as a nicotine gum (composed of nicotine polacrilexlozengeinhaler, and nasal spray. All these products contain nicotine as the active ingredient and work by delivering this into the bloodstream. These treatments are commonly referred to as nicotine replacement therapies.
