An equivalent term, used almost exclusively in the United States, is hazardous material (hazmat). Dangerous goods may be radioactiveflammableexplosivetoxiccorrosivebiohazardous, an oxidizer, an asphyxiant, a pathogen, an allergen, or may have other characteristics that render it hazardous in specific circumstances.
