HAIL

Hail is a form of precipitation which consists of balls or irregular lumps of ice (hailstones). Hailstones on Earth usually consist mostly of water ice and measure between 5 and 50 millimetres in diameter, with the larger stones coming from severe thunderstorms. Hail is always produced by cumulonimbi (thunderclouds), usually at the front of the storm system, and is composed of transparent ice or alternating layers of transparent and translucent ice at least 1 mm thick. Small hailstones are less than 5 mm in diameter, and are reported as SHGS. Unlike ice pellets, they are layered and can be irregular and clumped together.

La grêle est un type de précipitation qui se forme dans des orages particulièrement forts lorsque l'air est très humide et que les courants ascendants sont puissants. Elle prend la forme de billes de glace (grêlons) dont le diamètre peut varier de quelques millimètres à une dizaine de centimètres. Le code METAR de la grêle est GR.

L'Émirat Rachidi de Ha'il, parfois improprement dénommé « émirat du Djebel Chammar », fut fondé en 1835 et dura jusqu'à son annexion le 2 novembre 1921 par le sultanat (émirat avant le 22 août 1921) wahhabite du Nejd, dans le processus qui mena à la création en 1932 du Royaume d'Arabie saoudite. Aujourd'hui, Ha'il est une cité de habitants (2005).

Hail ist eine Stadt im Norden des Nadschd mit 267.005 Einwohnern (Volkszählung 2004).Die Oasenstadt Hail befindet sich im Norden des Nadschd am südlichen Rand der Wüste Nefud. Bedeutung erlangte sie durch die Lage auf dem Pilgerweg zwischen Bagdad und Mekka bzw. durch einst enge Handelsbeziehungen nach Nadschaf.

Hagel ist eine Form von Niederschlag, die aus Eisklumpen besteht. Zur Abgrenzung spricht man erst bei einem Durchmesser von über 0,5 Zentimetern von Hagel bzw. Eishagel, darunter von Graupel. Bei Aggregaten von Schneeflocken mit einem Durchmesser unter einem Millimeter spricht man von Griesel.

Grad - opad atmosferyczny w postaci bryłek lodu (nazywanych gradzinami lub gradowinami) o średnicy od 5 mm do 50 mm. Opad gradu następuje zwykle w ciepłej porze roku z silnie rozbudowanych chmur typu cumulonimbus i bywa połączony z obfitym opadem deszczu. Obfity grad ze szczególnie dużymi gradowinami, tzw. gradobicie, może spowodować znaczące straty, w szczególności w rolnictwie i może trwać nawet kilkadziesiąt godzin.

La grandine è un tipo di precipitazione atmosferica formata da tanti pezzi di ghiaccio (chiamati comunemente "chicchi di grandine"), generalmente sferici, che cadono dalle nubi cumuliformi più imponenti, i cumulonembi.Lo studio dei granelli di grandine viene condotto con un particolare strumento di misura, detto grelimetro.Il chicco di grandine più grande è stato registrato a Gopalganj (Bangladesh) il 14 aprile 1986, pesante 1,02 chilogrammi.
