Guerrero

The State of Guerrero is a state in the southern meridional region of  Mexico. With an area of , it occupies about 3.3% of the mexican territory. It borders the Pacific Ocean to the south (500 km), Michoacán to the west (524 km), Oaxaca to the east (241 km) and Estado de México (216 km), Morelos (88 km) and Puebla to the north (128 km). It is named in honor of the second president of The Republic, General Vicente Ramón Guerrero Saldaña (10 August 1782 – 14 February 1831), a hero of the Independence War. In 2003, the population was estimated at 3,167,400 people.

Guerrero ist ein Bundesstaat Mexikos, südlich der Hauptstadt an der Pazifikküste gelegen. Er grenzt im Westen an Michoacán, im Norden an Morelos und Puebla sowie an den  Bundesstaat México. Im Osten grenzt er an Oaxaca. Er hat eine Fläche von 63.794 km² mit etwa 3,167 Mio. Einwohnern.Er ist nach Vicente Guerrero benannt, einem Helden des Unabhängigkeitskrieges, und wurde 1849 aus den Küstengebieten der Staaten Mexiko und Puebla gebildet.Die Hauptstadt ist Chilpancingo (Ciudad Bravo), bekannte Städte sind das Seebad Acapulco, einst der wichtigste Pazifikhafen des Landes und die alte Silberstadt Taxco, deren koloniales Aussehen sie zu einem wichtigen touristischen Anziehungspunkt macht. Abgesehen vom Tourismus gibt es wenig bedeutende Wirtschaftszweige.

Guerrero è uno Stato del Messico situato nella parte sud-occidentale del paese. Confina a ovest con lo stato del Michoacán, a sud-ovest con l'Oceano Pacifico, a est con lo stato del Oaxaca, a nord con gli stati di Morelos e Puebla. Il nome deriva da Vicente Guerrero, un eroe della guerra di indipendenza, lo stato fu costituito nel 1849 unendo i territori costieri degli stati di Mexiko e Puebla.La sua capitale è Chilpancingo (Ciudad Bravo), altre città note sono Acapulco e l'antica città mineraria di Taxco.
