Guantanamo Bay Naval Base (also called Gitmo or GTMO) is located on of land and water at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba which the United States leased for use as a coaling (fueling) station following the Cuban-American Treaty of 1903. The base is located on the shore of Guantánamo Bay at the southeastern end of Cuba. It is the oldest overseas U.S. Navy Base, and the only one in a country with which the United States does not have diplomatic relations. The Cuban government opposes the presence of the naval base, claiming that the lease is invalid under international law. The U.S. government claims that the lease is valid.

Die Guantanamo Bay Naval Base ist ein Stützpunkt der US Navy auf Kuba. Er liegt im Süden der Guantánamo-Bucht, etwa 15 Kilometer südlich der gleichnamigen Stadt Guantánamo. Für den Stützpunkt wird auch die Abkürzung „GTMO“ oder „Gitmo“ verwendet.

Die Bahía de Guantánamo (span. für Guantánamo-Bucht) ist eine 20 Kilometer breite und acht Kilometer lange Bucht des Karibischen Meeres im südlichen Teil von Kuba. Sie trägt den Namen der zwölf Kilometer nördlich gelegenen Stadt Guantánamo.

Le camp de Guantánamo se trouve sur la base militaire navale américaine de Guantánamo à Cuba. Ce centre de détention militaire de haute sécurité détient des personnes qualifiées de « combattants irréguliers », capturées par l'armée américaine dans les différentes opérations qu'elle mène à l'étranger. Ce centre n'est pas juridiquement une prison puisqu'il ne dépend pas du système judiciaire fédéral américain.
