Greenwich Village, often referred to in New York as simply "the Village", is a largely residential neighborhood on the west side of Lower Manhattan in New York City. A large majority of the district is home to upper middle class families. Greenwich Village, however, was known in the late 19th to mid 20th centuries as an artists' haven, the bohemian capital, and the East Coast birthplace of the Beat movement. What provided the initial attractive character of the community eventually contributed to its gentrification and commercialization.

Greenwich Village, oft auch einfach „the Village“ genannt, ist ein Künstler- und Szeneviertel mit vielen Cafés, Bars, Restaurants und experimentellen Theatern. Es ist ein beliebtes Wohnviertel und bildet zusammen mit Chelsea auch einen Schwerpunkt als Lesben- und Schwulenviertel.

Greenwich Village, ou simplement The Village comme l'appellent la plupart des New-Yorkais, est un quartier essentiellement résidentiel, situé dans le sud-ouest du borough de Manhattan à New York.

Greenwich Village är en stadsdel som i huvudsak består av bostäder på sydvästra Manhattan i New York City. Området saknar fasta gränser men gränsar ungefär till Broadway i öster, Hudsonfloden i väster, Houston Street i söder och 14th Street i norr. Angränsande stadsdelar är East Village i öster, SoHo i söder och Chelsea i norr. Stadsdelens gatunät är till stora delar inte utformade i rektangulära nät som de flesta områdena på Manhattan.
