Great Lakes
The Great Lakes are a collection of freshwater lakes located in northeastern North America, on the Canada–United States border which connect to the Atlantic Ocean through the Saint Lawrence Seaway and the Great Lakes Waterway. Consisting of Lakes Superior, Michigan, Huron, Erie, and Ontario, they form the largest group of freshwater lakes on Earth comprising 21% of the world's surface fresh water. The total surface is , and the total volume (measured at the low water datum) is . The lakes are sometimes referred to as the North Coast or "Third Coast" by some citizens of the United States.

Wielkie Jeziora Pólnocnoamerykanskie
Wielkie Jeziora, system 5 jezior pochodzenia tektoniczno-polodowcowego w Ameryce Północnej, na pograniczu Kanady i USA. W skład systemu wchodzą następujące jeziora:
Poszczególne jeziora położone są na różnych wysokościach, przy czym różnica między poziomem wody Jeziora Górnego i jeziora Ontario wynosi 108 m. Wielkie Jeziora stanowią największy zbiornik wody słodkiej na kuli ziemskiej.
Jeziora połączone są ze sobą systemem cieśnin, rzek i kanałów. Razem z wypływającą z Jeziora Ontario Rzeką Świętego Wawrzyńca tworzą śródlądową Drogę Wodną Św. Wawrzyńca o długości 3770 km i stanowią ważny szlak wodny, mający również połączenie z dorzeczem rzek Missisipi oraz Hudson. Wokół Wielkich Jezior rozwinęła się gęsta sieć osadnicza.
