Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five

Joseph "Biggie Grand" Saddler (born January 1, 1958 in Bridgetown, Barbados), better known as Grandmaster Flash, is a American hip hop musician and DJ; one of the pioneers of hip-hop DJing, cutting, and mixing. Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007, becoming the first hip hop/rap artists so honored.

Joseph Saddler ou Grandmaster Flash, né en 1958 à Bridgetown, est un musicien et DJ américain, considéré comme un des pionniers du rap, du hip hop, du scratch et du remix. Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five è stato un gruppo hip hop statunitense, attivo a cavallo tra gli anni 1970 e gli anni 1980 e composto dal DJ Grandmaster Flash e dagli MC Melle Mel, Kid Creole, Rahiem, Scorpio  e Cowboy.Il gruppo inizia a prendere forma per la collaborazione di Grandmaster Flash con DJ Grand Wizard Theodore, che diventa il suo tecnico di sala. Per avere un supporto vocale durante le sue performances, Flash raggruppa alcuni MCs per costituire un vero e proprio gruppo. Il primo è Cowboy, poi i fratelli Melle Mel e Kid Creole. I 4 vengono inizialmente etichettati con il nome di Grandmaster Flash And The 3 MCs With The Beat Box.
