Grammophone record

A gramophone record (also phonograph record, or simply record) is an analogue sound storage medium consisting of a flat disc with an inscribed modulated spiral groove starting near the periphery and ending near the center of the disc. Gramophone records were the primary medium used for commercial music reproduction for most of the 20th century. They replaced the phonograph cylinder as the most popular recording medium in the 1900s, and although they were supplanted in popularity in the late 1980s by digital media, they continue to be manufactured and sold as of 2007. Gramophone records remain the medium of choice for some audiophiles, and specialist areas such as electronica.

Sie werden bei der Wiedergabe mit einem Tonabnehmer abgetastet, darin in mechanische und danach in elektrische Schwingungen verwandelt, die über einen Lautsprecher wiedergegeben werden. In Grammophonen erfolgte die Wiedergabe direkt durch die mechanische Anregung einer Membran mit einer in der Rille laufenden Nadel.

Płyta gramofonowa – okrągła płyta o wymiarach od 17,5 do 30 cm z zapisanym spiralnie (dośrodkowo) w sposób analogowy nagraniem dźwiękowym; wykonywana z poli(chlorku winylu) (stąd nazwa potoczna – płyta winylowa, lub od koloru – czarna płyta). Powszechne jest też potoczne określenie płyta analogowa.

Il disco in vinile (piastra circolare incisa con un solco a spirale per la riproduzione di suoni) è stato ufficialmente introdotto nel 1948 negli Stati Uniti come evoluzione dei precedenti dischi, dalle simili caratteristiche inizialmente in gommalacca.La migliori caratteristiche del vinile permise di rimpicciolire i solchi e abbassare il numero di giri per minuto dei dischi dai 78 ai 33⅓ ottenendo così una maggiore durata di ascolto, che raggiunse circa 25-30 minuti per facciata nei Long-Playing (LP), con punte massime di anche 38-40 minuti per lato, specie per le opere liriche.
