Graham Hill

Norman Graham Hill (February 15, 1929 – November 29, 1975) was an English racing driver and two-time Formula One World Champion. He was born in Hampstead, London. Graham Hill is the only driver to win the so-called Triple Crown of Motorsport: the Indianapolis 500 (1966)the 24 Hours of Le Mans (1972)the Monaco Grand Prix (1963, 1964, 1965, 1968, 1969)

Norman Graham Hill (* 17. Februar 1929 in Hampstead/London; † 29. November 1975 bei Arkley/Großbritannien) war ein englischer Rennfahrer.Hill wurde 1962 als F1-Weltmeister Nachfolger seines amerikanischen Namensvetters Phil Hill. Sein Sohn Damon Hill wurde 1996 auch F1-Weltmeister. Hills Karriere weist die Besonderheit auf, als bisher einziger Fahrer die so genannte Triple Crown des Motorsport zu erringen. Mit diesem fiktiven Ehrentitel werden, analog zum Pferderennen, die wichtigsten Automobilrennen bezeichnet. Unter den amerikanischen Oval-Rennen, bei denen zu der Zeit hohe Preisgelder zu gewinnen waren, ist dies das Indianapolis 500, das Hill 1966 für sich entschied. Dazu kommt als Sportwagen-Klassiker das 24-Stunden-Rennen von Le Mans sowie in der F1 der Große Preis von Monaco oder, je nach Ansichtsweise, die Formel-1-Weltmeisterschaft. In Monte Carlo war Hill gleich fünfmal erfolgreich.
