Gottlieb Daimler

Gottlieb Wilhelm Daimler (March 17, 1834 - March 6, 1900) was an engineer, industrial designer and industrialist, born in Schorndorf (Kingdom of Württemberg) what is now Germany. He was a pioneer of internal-combustion engines and automobile development.Daimler and his lifelong business partner Wilhelm Maybach were two inventors whose dream was to create small, high speed engines to be mounted in any kind of locomotion device. They patented in 1885 a precursor of the modern petrol engine which they subsequently fitted to a two-wheeler, considered the first motorcycle and, in the next year, to a stagecoach, and a boat. They are renowned as the inventors of this Grandfather Clock engine.

Gottlieb Wilhelm Daimler (eigentlich Däumler, * 17. März 1834 in Schorndorf; † 6. März 1900 in Cannstatt bei Stuttgart) war ein deutscher Ingenieur, Konstrukteur und Industrieller. Daimler entwickelte den ersten schnelllaufenden Benzinmotor und das erste vierrädrige Kraftfahrzeug mit Verbrennungsmotor.

Gottlieb Daimler (właściwie Däumler), urodził się 17 marca 1834, zmarł 6 marca 1900 w Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt), był niemieckim konstruktorem i przemysłowcem.Jego ojciec Johannes Däumler był mistrzem piekarskim w Schorndorf w Wirtembergii. Po ukończeniu w wieku 14 lat szkoły realnej podjął naukę w zawodzie rusznikarza, którą ukończył po 4 latach egzaminem czeladniczym.Po 5 latach pracy w fabryce maszyn podjął studia w Szkole Politechnicznej w Stuttgarcie. Po ukończeniu studiów i odbyciu licznych podróży związanych ze studiami podjął w roku 1862 pracę jako konstruktor w fabryce wyrobów metalowych. Po trzech latach został kierownikiem fabryki maszyn w Reutlingen, gdzie po raz pierwszy zetknął się z Wilhelmem Maybachem.

Gottlieb Wilhelm Daimler (Schorndorf, 17 marzo 1834 - Cannstatt distretto di Stoccarda, 6 marzo 1900) fu ingegnere, costruttore e industriale tedesco.Nel 1885 depositò il brevetto di quello che è uno dei precursori del moderno motore a scoppio e nel 1890 fondò la sua prima azienda, la Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft, quella che, dopo la morte del fondatore, divenne nel 1926 la Daimler-Benz.Per la sua fondamentale opera nel campo degli autoveicoli è stato inserito nella Automotive Hall of Fame già nel 1978 ed è anche ricordato nella sua nazione di origine con l'intestazione a suo nome del Gottlieb-Daimler-Stadion di Stoccarda.
